Just updating on the Crochet Heart Blanket..

WE HAVE FINISHED IT!! WOO HOO!!

Our beautiful little group finally finished the crocheted heart blanket and here it is

The first photo is the original photo we chose to re-create and the second photo is our completed work of art. You can see me pictured with creator of the original Artwork Guy Whitby and these are a link to his pages

We are all so incredibly proud of our efforts to make this and have it come to fruition. It was a logistial nightmare as there was over 40 people from all over the world involved. Making their choosen squares before sending them to me and I joined them into this beautiful practical and usable piece of art.

Many thanks to everyone involved but I have two people I must thank. Guy for allowing us to re-create his vision and to Nikki Willis for all her work in breaking the original photo down into a graph set-up to allow everyone to choose which piece they wanted to do. The following photo shows the graphed picture.

then we had to decide on the size of the individual squares which was 7cm sq in size... Tiny!!

Our next major hurdle was to co-ordinate all the requests for the indiviual blocks of squares. We got there eventually. I couldn't have done this on my own and with Nikkis' support would not have got there. Ultimately it was a true team effort.

The next step is to donate the completed artwork to the choosen charity for this piece. For those who don't know it is The Red Cross. Talks are underway for this so will update you as information comes to my attention.

Work has already begun on our next project so keep your eyes open for information on this... new post out soon!!
